Bo-Bo Knows Dirty Limericks

Metered Angst
A Limerick by Catherine Elcik

When tracking my writing it's hard to ignore
when my hours shrink back to less than half four.
I say that I'm fighting
To prioritize writing
But then dole out my time like I can simply make more.

  1. I am soooo stealing this for my blog. Because selectively quoting someone else is like writing, isn't it? Isn't it?

  2. You can't steal it if I gift it to you. You have been officially be-gifted. What? Shakespeare made up all kinds of words and nobody squints at him. You want to do an end of the year friendly wager? I want to get through the opening to my book (roughly 30 pages). You want to...do something. We find a wager that is suitable to both of us and commence the rivalry...gauntlet thrown.

  3. 30-page Challenge accepted, although in my case that'll mean three or four rather short stories.

Since you're working with existing material, my personal challenge can include revisions but will also have at least one brand-new story; my quest is to work 30 pages of things that haven't yet been submitted into jewels that I will send out. By the end of the year.

The winner (the first winner to complete their goal, as we will surely both be winners by the end of the year) is to receive a drink of their choice (within reason, no Dom Perignon), to be purchased for them by the not-the-first winner.

And here's the link to your limerick's new home. http://barkingatmyshadow.blogspot.com/2011/11/thanks-and-giving.html

  4. Well, I'm tearing apart the opening and starting from scratch, so who knows. I have a three scene opening that I want to have revised by Christmas. But I'll take the thirty page challenge: If this opening dips down in page count, I will be producing 30 pages. Message me on Facebook with your email and we can swap exisiting material to keep us honest...
